    Modern Language & Culture, BA - German (Applied Business Concentration)

    Program Information:
    The Modern Language and Culture major with primary language of German requires completion of 45 hours of Gen Education, 18 hours of lower-division major requirements (including GRMN 2001, GRMN 2002, and FL 2209), 9 hours of Related Studies (approved by the German Studies Advisor and the DFL Chair), 9 hours of Other Major Requirements (vary depending on student’s concentration), 12 hours of Free Electives, and 30 hours of upper-division (3000 and 4000 level courses) courses in German Studies as prescribed by the Department. Three (3) hours of the 30-hour major must be study or internship abroad of at least 6 weeks. Most students complete this requirement during a summer term.

    This is a suggested 4-year schedule of courses based on the Modern Language and Culture, German - Applied Business Concentration degree requirements and course prerequisites in the Fall 2017 Undergraduate Catalog.. (If course prerequisites change, you must meet the prerequisites in effect when you take the course, so always check the current Catalog for course prerequisites.)

    1. If the student has studied German previously, s/he should take the placement test or speak with an advisor to determine which level to enter into.
    2. Must earn a grade of "C" or better in coursework.
    3. Not all courses are offered every semester.

    5. This program requires three (3) hours of study or internship abroad. Most students complete this requirement during a summer term; regular semester options are also available. Students are eligible to take GRMN 3390 or GRMN 3398, Internship Abroad, any time after completion of GRMN 2002/2003.
